The Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund (JHF) is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this statement. The JHF is registered in the Netherlands and is an ANBI (Public Benefit Organization).
What personal data we process
Where we process personal data, we do so based on contractual necessity, legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in operating and improving our services, as applicable.
Grant applications
When an organization submits a grant application, we process the following data relating to the contact person named in the application:
- First name, last name, and title
- Email address and phone number
- Organization name and related details
- Any personal information included in the application or supporting documents
Correspondence
When you contact us by email, phone, or otherwise, we process the personal data you provide (such as your name and contact details) to respond to your enquiry.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use our website. We use this data solely to improve our website. No individual visitors are identified, and no full IP addresses are stored or logged. See our Cookie Statement for full details.
Sensitive personal data
The JHF processes sensitive personal data only if you provide such information yourself.
The need to process personal data
We may use the personal information held about you in the following ways:
- To provide you with information concerning the application which you submitted as the contact person for that organization;
- To fulfil our obligations under any agreement between us and the organization you represent.
- To respond to your requests for information and other communication or correspondence you may submit to us;
- To notify you about changes to our website, services, or policies.
Where we store your data
Application data submitted through our online portal is not stored on the public website. It is stored securely in the following locations:
- Application data, related files, and database: Microsoft Azure, West Europe region (Amsterdam, Netherlands), stored within the European Economic Area.
- Email correspondence: Microsoft 365, managed by Lucrasoft.
- Applications submitted before 2015: retained in paper archives.
- Backups: encrypted backup storage.
Data retention period
The JHF will keep your data for archiving purposes in public interest and scientific or historical research.
Website analytics data (GA4) will be automatically deleted after 14 months.
Sharing data with third parties
The JHF shares personal data with third parties only where necessary to deliver our services or where required by law. Your data may also be shared with third parties which are not necessarily part of JHF’s services. In that case, the JHF will only do so after requesting and obtaining your explicit consent.
We have concluded Data Processing Agreements with all third-party processors to ensure your data is protected to at least the same standard as our own systems.
Current processors include:
- Microsoft (Azure West Europe): secure cloud storage for application data and office services.
- Panta: database management
- Lucrasoft: cloud services management
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4): aggregate website analytics. This data is transferred to the US under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework + SCCs.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own commercial purposes.
Your personal data
Under the GDPR you have the right to restriction and object to the processing of your personal data. You can always request a summary of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at info@jhf.nl. If you feel that your data have been processed incorrectly or incompletely, or if such processing was unnecessary, you can file a request for editing, supplementation, or removal of your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), if you believe your personal data has not been handled correctly.
Security
The JHF takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. The JHF concludes a processors’ agreement with third parties, which processes data for the JHF.
